2012 Trend Tips

Monday, September 12, 2011

'3 Piece Events' give us the overview on what to expect in the way of trends for 2012 weddings …

As weddings begin to diverge into more whimsical and theatrical masterpieces, along come an array of products and styles to suit. Not only do we have the internet for great inspiration, but brides and grooms are beginning to think outside the box and create their own wedding styles based on past eras, personality and functionality.

The recent “design your own” trend is going nowhere and will strengthen in 2012, especially in areas of wedding dresses, bridal party attire, stationery and décor. More and more couples are sharing the desire to host a unique wedding day celebration that will keep people talking for years to come.

We believe these are some of the trends that will start to filter through as early as Summer 2011.

COLOURS

Silver Cloud, Peony and Peridot harmonise to create a romantic style Deep teal matched with rich autumn tones will add warmth and interest Rich, metallic browns can be teamed with soft greens and ivory to generate enchantment.

3D

From the invitations to the dress and even the wedding cake, 3D elements will be seen more and more in the future. Geometrical and die-cut invitations are becoming more popular for those looking to incorporate some depth into their wedding style and this is followed through the wedding day with appliqúed wedding gowns, texture in centrepieces and pleating on wedding cakes.

STRONG THEMES ARE BACK

Couples are stepping away from traditional wedding styles and customising their perfect day by using a little imagination. Wedding themes (or styles) are translated from invitations, to wedding party attire and even the type of food served. Every element of the wedding should be seamlessly presented so guests feel transported to a magical world. Some recent 3 Piece Events styles include Chic Masquerade Ball, Outback Infusion and Sunset Voyage.

HATS

Following in the footsteps of fashion, hats and fascinators will make a big comeback in the next 12-18 months and may be linked to wedding themes such as 50s Vintage or Edgy Glam. Headwear will not only be seen during morning and beach weddings, they will appear in various shapes and sizes at informal and chic weddings too.

THE WEDDING AFTER PARTY

After the wedding day formalities are over, bridal couples are beginning to embrace the After Party trend. The party mood continues into the night and the bride may choose to change into a less elaborate dress for the affair. This is a great way to spend precious moments with close friends and family who have travelled from interstate or overseas for the wedding.
